Buena Vista Wildlife Area is a state wildlife area inPortage County,Wisconsin,United States.
Buena Vista Wildlife Area is located on fragmented lands south ofthe Village of Plover and theWisconsin River, east ofBiron,Wisconsin Rapids, andKellner, north of State Road 73,Adams County, andWaushara County, and west ofBancroft and Interstate 39 / U.S. Highway 51. The Buena Vista Marsh has various parcels of land in many sizes and shapes located in the towns ofGrant,Buena Vista,Pine Grove, andTown of Plover.
The Buena Vista Marsh is managed in cooperation of theWisconsin Department of Natural Resources,[1] and the Wildlife Society at theUniversity of Wisconsin–Stevens Point.[2] The Buena Vista Marsh is often managed towardprairie chicken.[1] The Buena Vista Marsh is noted by tourists in the spring who flock to see the mating rituals of the prairie chicken.
