Lewis Pate "Bud"McFadin (August 21, 1928 – February 13, 2006) was an American professionalfootball player and coach. He playedcollege football for theTexas Longhorns and was a unanimous selection at theguard position on the1950 College Football All-America Team.[1] He played professionally in theNational Football League (NFL) for theLos Angeles Rams (1952–1956) and in theAmerican Football League (AFL) for theDenver Broncos (1960–1963) andHouston Oilers (1964–1965). A versatile player, he playedtackle andlinebacker ondefense, as well asguard onoffense. He was aPro Bowl pick in 1955 and 1956, aSporting NewsAll-AFL defensive tackle in1960, 1961 and 1962, and anAmerican Football League West Division All-Star in 1963.
McFadin was inducted into theCollege Football Hall of Fame in 1983. He died on February 13, 2006, at a hospital inVictoria, Texas.[2]
