William "Bud"Brooks was anAmerican football player for theArkansas Razorbacks and the winner of the 1954Outland Trophy as the year's bestinterior lineman.
Brooks playedguard anddefensive tackle for the Razorbacks and was selected first-team All-American following the 1954 college season by theAssociated Press, theAmerican Football Coaches Association, theFootball Writers Association of America and theWalter Camp Foundation.[1]
Brooks was selected most valuable player for the South team in the 1955Senior Bowl. He was drafted by theDetroit Lions in the fifth round of the1955 NFL draft and played in one regular season game for the Lions in 1955.[2]
