Buaraba is a rurallocality in theSomerset Region,Queensland, Australia.[3] In the2021 census, Buaraba had a population of 170 people.[2]
Buaraba Creek flows through from west to south-east. Most ofRavensbourne National Park is within the locality.[4]
TheEsk-Hampton Road (State Route 85) runs along the north-western boundary, and the Gatton Esk Road passes through the eastern part.
Buaraba Provisional School opened in 1922. In January 1936, it became Buaraba State School. It closed in 1966.[5] The school was at 421 Buaraba Creek Road (27°21′47″S152°19′16″E / 27.3631°S 152.32112°E /-27.3631; 152.32112 (Buaraba State School (former))).[6][7] The school building is still extant.[8]
In the2016 census, Buaraba had a population of 181 people.[9]
