Brinley "Bryn" Phillips (11 October 1900 – 6 May 1980) was a Welshdual-code internationalrugby union and professionalrugby league footballer who played in the 1920s. He played representative level rugby union (RU) forWales, and at club level forTaibach RFC,Aberavon RFC andGlamorgan Police RFC, as alock,[1][2] and representative level rugby league (RL) forWales andGlamorgan, and at club level forHuddersfield, as asecond-row orloose forward.[3][4]

Phillips was born inMerthyr Tydfil, Wales, and he died agedc. 79–80 inNeath, Wales.

Playing career

International honours

Bryn Phillips woncaps forWales (RU) while at Aberavon RFC in 1925 against England, Scotland, France, and Ireland, and in 1926 against England, and won acap forWales (RL) while at Huddersfield in 1926.[3]

County honours

Bryn Phillips played atsecond-row and scored atry inGlamorgan's 18–14 victory overMonmouthshire in the non-County Championship match during the1926–27 season atTaff Vale Park,Pontypridd on Saturday 30 April 1927.[5]
