Bruniales is an order offlowering plants. Until recently it was not recognized as an order, but a 2008 study suggested thatBruniaceae andColumelliaceae are sister clades.[2] The latest revision of theAPG system,APG III, places both families as the only members of the order Bruniales, which is sister to theApiales, and one of theasterid taxa.[1]
