It was announced that in the 2012–13 season, he would be replaced byMark Roberts, who signed for Ayr as a player in January 2009.[4]
In January 2013, Philippine sideGlobal FC acquired Reid to handle the team as part of their participation in the2013 AFC President's Cup.[5] Global FC is one of the two Southeast Asian clubs in the competition for clubs for "emerging nations" in Asia.
