Conway was selected by the Packers with the anticipation of him replacing the Packers' former stalwart kicker,Chris Jacke. However, Conway struggled in the preseason, not making a single field goal in any of the preseason games, and was cut from the team at the end of training camp. The Packers instead went with undrafted free agentRyan Longwell, who went on the break the Packers' team record for career points.
