Brasserie Julien was a brasserie-styleFrench cuisine restaurant located at 1422Third Avenue (between East 80th Street and East 81st Street) on theUpper East Side ofManhattan in New York City,[2][3][4] as well as ajazz club.[5] The establishment closed at the end of 2012.

The restaurant was named after the son of co-owners Cecilia Pineda Feret and Chef Philippe Feret,[6] who was anexecutive chef ofWindows on the World restaurant, located in New York City, and apastry chef atTaillevent restaurant, located inParis,France.

Theart-deco wooden decor was handmade by Chef Feret, including a replica of the elevator door of New York City'sChrysler Building.[2]

The 2013 edition ofZagats gave it a food rating of 18 based on 2012 data.[4] The establishment closed in November 2012.

Jazz club

It was one of the few venues offeringno-coverlive music[7] in the neighborhood, with resident jazz musician Sedric Choukroun, and notable vocalists includinggospel-music artist Ayana Love and FrenchchanteuseFlo Ankah.[8][9]
