Brandon Tory Williams[1] (born November 22, 1999) is an American professionalbasketball player for theDallas Mavericks of theNational Basketball Association (NBA). He playedcollege basketball for theArizona Wildcats.
Williams attendedCrespi Carmelite High School inEncino, California, where he was a four-starrecruit and committed to playing college basketball forArizona in May 2018.[2]
Williams played the 2018–19 season for the Wildcats, averaging 11.4points per game and earning honorable mentionPac-12 Conference All-Freshman team honors. He had knee surgery in 2019, missing what would have been his sophomore season. He left Arizona in 2020 to heal and to prepare for his eventual professional career.[3]
After going undrafted in the2021 NBA draft, Williams joined theWestchester Knicks of theNBA G League in October 2021.[4] He averaged 17.7 points, 4 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game in 10 games.
On December 26, 2021, thePortland Trail Blazers of theNational Basketball Association (NBA) signed Williams to a 10-day contract to fill out the roster after several players were lost due toCOVID-19 health and safety protocols.[5]
On January 5, 2022, Williams was reacquired by theWestchester Knicks.[6] On January 22, he scored a career-high 35 points and had eight assists in a 142–117 loss to theMaine Celtics.[7]
On February 22, 2022, Williams signed a two-way contract with thePortland Trail Blazers.[8] He was waived on October 7.[9]
On November 4, 2022, Williams was named to the opening night roster for theCollege Park Skyhawks.[10]
On September 12, 2023, Williams signed with theOrlando Magic,[11] but was waived on October 21.[12] On November 2, he joined theOsceola Magic.[13]
On December 28, 2023, Williams signed a two-way contract with theDallas Mavericks.[14] Williams reached the2024 NBA Finals where the Mavericks lost to theBoston Celtics in five games.[15] He was re-signed on July 12, 2024, to a two-way contract.[16]
On March 7, 2025, Williams recorded a career-high 31 points against theMemphis Grizzlies.[17] On April 8, he was signed to a multi-year contract by the Mavericks.[18]
