TheRussian Imperial Family was split into four main branches named after the sons of EmperorNicholas I:

The headship of the Imperial Family is in dispute betweenGrand Duchess Maria Vladimirovna of Russia of the Vladimirovich (Alexandrovichi) andPrince Andrew Andreevich of Russia of the Mikhailovichi branch.

In the family trees, a ≈ sign represents a union causing an illegitimate child.
