The Brahmani originates in theSanthal Parganas inJharkhand and then flows throughBirbhum district, bisectingRampurhat subdivision. It finally flows throughMurshidabad district, where it joins the Dwarka River.[1]
It is a hill stream with beds full of pebbles and yellow clay.[2]
Baidharabarrage on the Brahmani has a capacity of 540,000 cubic metres (440 acre⋅ft),[3]
