Bragadiru is a town inIlfov County,Muntenia,Romania. The town is located in the southwestern vicinity of the city ofBucharest, at the exit towardsAlexandria, being a part of theBucharest metropolitan area. Bragadiru became a town on 29 December 2005.[3]
The town lies in theWallachian Plain, on the banks of the riverSabar and of its tributary, the riverCiorogârla. Bragadiru is located around the intersection of theBucharest Ring Motorway with thenational roadDN6 (part ofEuropean route E70).

According to the 2002 census, Bragadiru had a population of 8,165, of which 98.19% wereRomanians, 1.45% wereRoma, and 0.36% of other ethnic backgrounds. According to the2011 census, the town had a population of 15,329 inhabitants, being the fifth urban center of Ilfov County from a demographic point of view, afterVoluntari,Pantelimon,Buftea, andPopești-Leordeni. At the2021 census, the population had increased to 40,080 inhabitants.[4]
