It is located inJones Sound by northernDevon Island, just north of theDevon Ice Cap and 12 km (7.5 mi)[3] north of theSverdrup Glacier (75°40′40″N83°16′20″W / 75.67778°N 83.27222°W /75.67778; -83.27222 (Sverdrup Glacier)[4]}.
TheInuit community ofGrise Fiord onEllesmere Island lies 71 km (44 mi) to the north and the abandoned settlement ofCraig Harbour is 77 km (48 mi)[5] to the northeast.
