Bowery Creek[1] is a 6.0-mile-long (9.7 km)[2] tributary ofCatskill Creek north of theCatskill Mountains ofNew York. Via Catskill Creek, it is part of theHudson River watershed. Bowery Creek rises east ofWindham High Peak in the northern part of the town ofCairo and flows northeast to Catskill Creek west ofFreehold.
The name "Bowery" comes from the Dutch word for farm.[3]
