Bodo nationalism is an ideology that supportsself-determination of theBodo people.[1] The Bodo people have been increasingly the victims of alleged aggression at the hands ofMuslimfanatic groups andAssamese linguistic nationalists in the Indian state of Assam, specially in the autonomousBodoland Territorial Region (BTR), where they have been reduced to minority over the decades.[2][3] Many Bodo nationalists support the idea of establishment of Bodo homeland in the form ofBodoland as aSeparate state within theRepublic of India in accordance with the framework of theIndian Constitution.[4]
