Robert Hughes (5 September 1892 – September 1955) was an English professionalfootballer who played in theFootball League as anoutside forward, most notably forRochdale,Wigan Borough andHull City.[4][5] He scored more than 100 goals during his career and represented theSouthern League XI versus theFootball League XI in 1915.[4][6]

Personal life

As of 1917, Hughes was working in agovernment job acrossNorthern England.[2] After retiring from football, he returned toHull in the 1930s and worked as aplumber in anoil refinery.[2]
