TheBlack River, known as theLamington River downstream ofPottersville, is atributary of theNorth Branch Raritan River in centralNew Jersey in theUnited States.[1]
The Black River starts near that of the North Branch Raritan River, several miles west ofMorristown, rising out of Sunset Lake in Mine Hill New Jersey. It flows through theBlack River Wildlife Management Area, theBlack River County Park, andHacklebarney State Park.[1] It flows throughChester, New Jersey and the town middle school is named after it.
