BlackRock Smaller Companies Trust (LSE: BRSC) is a largeBritishinvestment trust dedicated to smaller company investments. The company is listed on theLondon Stock Exchange and is a constituent of theFTSE 250 Index.
The company was established as the North British Canadian Investment Company in 1906,[1][2] and was renamed the NB Smaller Companies Trust in December 1993 and the 3i Smaller Companies Trust in December 1995.[3] AfterMerrill Lynch & Co. secured the investment management mandate,[4] it became the Merrill Lynch British Smaller Companies Trust in February 2005.[3] Following the merger of Merrill Lynch Investment Management withBlackRock in February 2006,[5] it adopted the current name in April 2008.[3] Thechairman is Ronald Gould.[6]
