Bittinger is anunincorporated community in northeasternGarrett County,Maryland, United States, on the western edge of theSavage River State Forest. It lies alongMaryland Route 495 northeast of the city ofOakland, thecounty seat of Garrett County.[1] Its elevation is 2,690 feet (820 m).[2] Although Bittinger is unincorporated, it has apost office, with theZIP code of 21522.[3] The post office was established in 1885.[4]
