Jasper Kange is an Americanprofessional wrestler, better known by thering nameBishop Kaun orKaun. He is signed toAll Elite Wrestling (AEW) and its sister promotionRing of Honor (ROH), where he is a member of The Demand stable and one-half of the tag teamGates of Agony (GOA).

Early life

Kange attended theUniversity of Minnesota before transferring toLuther College, where he majored in art and playedfootball for theLuther Norse.[4][5] After graduating, he worked in art and design before deciding to become a professional wrestler after moving toBaltimore.[4]

Professional wrestling career

Early career (2017–2018)

Kaun was trained at theMaryland Championship Wrestlingprofessional wrestling school,[3] debuting in 2017.[2] He spent the early years of his career primarily wrestling for Maryland Championship Wrestling, where he won the MCW Tag Team Championship with Malcolm Moses.[6][7]

Kaun debuted inRing of Honor (ROH) in 2018, teaming with Moses as the Soldiers of Savagery. In 2021, he and Moses formed thestableShane Taylor Promotions withShane Taylor.[8] In February 2021, the trio defeated MexiSquad to win theROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship. They held the title untilFinal Battle in December 2021 when they lost to the Righteous.[9]

Gates of Agony / GOA (2022–present)

Following Final Battle, ROH was put on hiatus until April 2022 by new ownerTony Khan.[10] In December 2021, Kaun began also wrestling for ROH's sister promotionAll Elite Wrestling.[11] On April 1, 2022, onSupercard of Honor XV,Tully Blanchard announced that Kaun would be part of hisTully Blanchard Enterprises stable, alongsideToa Liona andBrian Cage. The duo of Kaun and Liona were named the "Gates of Agony".[12][13][14]

In July 2022 atDeath Before Dishonor,Prince Nana announced he had purchased Tully Blanchard Enterprises and reformedThe Embassy, with Cage, Kaun and Liona.[15][16] AtBattle of the Belts IV in October 2022, Kaun and Liona unsuccessfully challengedFTR for theROH World Tag Team Championship.[17] AtFinal Battle in December 2022, the Gates of Agony defeatedDalton Castle andThe Boys to win theROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship.[18] AtRampage: Grand Slam in September 2023, the Gates of Agony lost the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship toThe Elite.[19] On November 1, 2023 onAEW Dynamite, the Gates of Agony regained the titles from The Elite.[20][11] On the January 17, 2024 episode ofDynamite, they lost the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship toBullet Club Gold.[21] On the May 8 episode ofDynamite, Cage and the Gates of Agony turned on Swerve Strickland, disbanding the Mogul Embassy in the process.[22]

On the May 25 episode ofRampage, Gates of Agony and Cage revealed their new team name to be "Cage of Agony".[23] After Cage left the group, Kaun and Liona were left as a tag team. On April 16 atDynamite: Spring BreakThru, Gates of Agony unsuccessfully challengedThe Hurt Syndicate for theAEW World Tag Team Championship.[24] In the summer, Gates of Agony would align themselves withRicochet and shortened their name to GOA.[25][26][27] On August 24 atForbidden Door, GOA and Ricochet defeatedJetSpeed andMichael Oku. Later in the show GOA and Ricochet attackedThe Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley andShelton Benjamin) during theirAEW World Tag Team Championship defense, causing them to lose their titles.[28] Later that month, GOA and Ricochet unsuccessfully challengedThe Opps for theAEW World Trios Championship after Benjamin and Lashley's stablemateMVP interfered.[29] AtAll Out on September 20, GOA and Ricochet (now known as "The Demand") defeated The Hurt Syndicate, but were defeated in a rematch atDynamite: Title Tuesday on October 7 in aStreet Fight and on October 12 atWrestleDream in atornado trios match.[30][31][32]

New Japan Pro-Wrestling (2023)

On November 13, 2023, it was announced that Gates of Agony (Liona and Kaun), would make theirNew Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) debut, by competing in the2023 World Tag League. The duo were announced to be competing in the A-Block.[33] On November 29, Gates of Agony would seemingly joinHouse of Torture, but would reveal it to be a trick on the December 1 show. The duo finished with four points and were unable to qualify for the semi-finals.

Kaun is ofCameroonian descent on his father's side.[4][3]
