Birgid (also known as Birked, Birguid, Birkit, Birqed, Kajjara, Murgi, Murgi Birked) is anextinctNubian language that was spoken in westernSudan, north of the city ofNyala inSouth Darfur. Canadian linguist Thelwall mentions his last contact with elderly speakers of Birgid in 1972.
