Birdy is asupervillain appearing inAmerican comic books published byMarvel Comics.[1] She was created byJim Lee andScott Lobdell and made her first appearance inX-Men vol. 2 #6.[2]
Birdy becomes the partner ofSabretooth. She uses her telepathy to help keep him calm.[3] Birdy accompanies Sabretooth while he searches for answers on who is trying to kill him andMystique.[4] Mystique reveals that she gave birth to a son,Graydon Creed.[5] Later, Birdy is stabbed and killed by Graydon.[6] The character was resurrected in 2022, becoming a counsellor for victims of disasters and theMarauders team.[7][8]
Birdy is amutant with the power oftelepathy. She has achieved some level of skill, being capable of the standard feats of a mutant telepath (mind reading and manipulation, mental communication, psi-blasts, etc.). She is also able to use her telepathy to temporarily satiateSabretooth's psychotic feral impulses (which he refers to as getting "the glow"). She is able to use 'the glow', combined with the powers ofSomnus, to counsel the members of the Marauders inside their dreams following the events ofJudgment Day.[8]
Birdy is also highly skilled with advanced weaponry and explosives, capable of taking down massive groups of theHand.[4]
Birdy appears as an assist character for Sabretooth in theMarvel vs. Capcom series.
An unrelated character namedByrdie appears in thethird season ofWhat If...?. She is the super powered daughter ofHoward the Duck andDarcy Lewis, voiced byKat Dennings. She has a punk rock persona, energy projection power, can grow wings from her arms to take flight and "duck wrists", which seems to indicate high flexibility or dexterity in her wrists.
