Binasco (Lombard:Binasch[biˈnask]) is acomune (municipality) in theProvince of Milan in theItalian regionLombardy, located about 15 kilometres (9 mi) southwest ofMilan. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 7,236 and an area of 3.9 square kilometres (1.5 mi2).[3]
On May 24, 1796, 100 citizens of Binasco were executed and the village was burned at the orders of French generalNapoleon Bonaparte in response to the inhabitants revolting against French occupation of Northern Italy.[4]
