William Frederick Burnikell (9 December 1910 – May 1980) was an English professionalfootball player and manager. His surname was also speltBurnicle.[3]
Born inSouthwick, Burnikell played as aleft half forLincoln City,Bradford City andAldershot.[4] For Lincoln City, he made 25 appearances inthe Football League.[5] For Bradford City, he made 52 appearances in the Football League, scoring two goals; he also made 3FA Cup appearances.[6]
He later became a football manager and was in charge ofHalifax Town between April and December 1956.[7] He also managed Swedish clubsLandskrona BoIS,Helsingborg,Örebro SK andDegerfors IF.[8][9] He also won theChilean Primera División in 1954 withUniversidad Católica.[10]
