Bidone d'oro,Italian for "Golden Bin" or "Golden Trashcan", was atongue-in-cheek prize given to the most disappointing player inSerie A at the end of each calendar year. A play onBallon d'Or,[1] the winner was chosen through votes by listeners of theCatersport show onRai Radio 2.[2] The prize was first awarded in 2003 toRivaldo ofMilan,[3] and was discontinued in 2012 whenCatersport went off the air.[4] The final Bidone d'Oro was awarded at the end of 2012 toAlexandre Pato following a vote on the discontinued show'sFacebook page.[4]
