Berwyn Price (born 15 August 1951) is aWelsh former international athlete who competed at the1972 Summer Olympics and1976 Summer Olympics.[1]
Price was born inTredegar,Monmouthshire, and studied atLewis School, Pengam[2] and theUniversity College of Wales, Aberystwyth.[3]
A member of theCardiff Amateur Athletic Club, Price was three-times runner up at theAAA Championships in 1970 behindDavid Hemery and 1971 and 1972 behindAlan Pascoe[4][5] before representingGreat Britain at the 1972 Olympics Games inMunich.[1]
He finally became theBritish 110 metres hurdles champion after winning the British title at the1973 AAA Championships and would go on to retain it every year from 1974 to 1978.[6]
Price won the silver medal in the110-metre hurdles at the1974 British Commonwealth Games and the gold medal in the same event at the1978 Commonwealth Games.[7][8] Price also competed forGreat Britain at the 1976 Olympics Games inMontreal, in the 110-metre hurdles.[3]
Price later became Assistant Director of Leisure forSwansea City Council, Head of Sports Tourism forSwansea and project manager for the "White Rock" project to replace theMorfa Stadium.[citation needed]
