Bertil Nordenstam

Rune Bertil Nordenstam (born 1936)[1] is aSwedish botanist and professor emeritus at theSwedish Museum of Natural History in the Department of Phanerogamic Botany.[2] He has worked withColchicaceae,Senecioneae[3][4] andCalenduleae,[5]was the editor ofCompositae Newsletter newsletter since 1990, and is a Tribal Coordinator for The International Compositae Alliance with responsibility for the tribesCalenduleae andSenecioneae.[6]

He has done field work inGreece,Sweden,Turkey,Mongolia,Egypt,Namibia. This botanist is denoted by theauthor abbreviationB.Nord. whenciting abotanical name.[7][8]

In 2006, botanistRoger Lundin publishedNordenstamia, a genus offlowering plants from South America, belonging to the familyAsteraceae and named in Nordenstam's honour.[9]
