Bereeda (Somali:Bareeda,Arabic:بارآدا,Italian:Bereda) is a coastal town in the northeasternBari province ofSomalia. It is situated in theAlula District, which is in the autonomousPuntland region.
Bereeda is located at11°52′14.52″N51°3′29.17″E / 11.8707000°N 51.0581028°E /11.8707000; 51.0581028, facing theGulf of Aden andGuardafui Channel. It lies 12nautical miles (14 miles) west ofCape Guardafui and 20nautical miles (23 miles) east ofAlula.
On April 8, 2013, the Puntland government announced the creation of a new region coextensive with Bereeda andCape Guardafui, namedGardafuul. Carved out of theBari region, it consists of three districts and has its capital atAlula.
According to the Puntland Ministry of Education, there is 1 primary school in Bereeda.[1]
