Benipatti is a town and headquarter of sub-division Benipatti in theMadhubani district of theMithila region inBihar, India. The native language of Benipatti isMaithili, while the official languages areHindi andUrdu. In the early times, Benipatti was a centre of traditional learnings in the Mithila region.[1]

Benipatti is situated near to theHimalayas and the Indo-Nepal frontier. Benipatti is close to theBagmati river, and has many small rivers, canals and ponds, which make a diversifiedaquatic ecosystem. It is aflood prone region, receiving an annualrainfall of about 1270mm. The territory has vastcultivated fields, and moderately densevegetation.Palm trees grow in large numbers in the region.
