Bengkalis (Kota Bengkalis) is a large town and the seat (capital) ofBengkalis Regency.[1] in theRiau province ofIndonesia It is located on the south coast ofBengkalis Island. The town had a population of 83,085 in 2021.
Bengkalis has a hot and humid equatorial/tropical climate. The city is humid throughout the year with daily temperature ranging from 26 to 32 degrees Celsius.
In recent election in 2020, Kasmarni and Bagus Santoso elected as regent and deputy regent respectively to take office from 26 February 2021.[2]
Bengkalis has atropical rainforest climate (Af) with heavy to very heavy rainfall year-round.
