Benjamin Thomas Hamilton (born August 18, 1977) is an American former professionalfootball player who was aguard andcenter for 10 seasons in theNational Football League (NFL). He playedcollege football for theUniversity of Minnesota, and was a two-time consensusAll-American. TheDenver Broncos picked him in the fourth round of the2001 NFL draft, and he played professionally for the Broncos andSeattle Seahawks of the NFL.
Hamilton was born inMinneapolis, Minnesota, the son of formerMinnesota Vikings offensive linemanWes Hamilton. He attendedWayzata High School inPlymouth, Minnesota, and was all-state selection in football. He graduated in 1996.
He attended the University of Minnesota, where he played for theMinnesota Golden Gophers football team from 1996 to 2000. He was a two-time first-teamAll-Big Ten selection, and was recognized as a consensus first-teamAll-American in 1999 and 2000.[1]
He was selected by the Denver Broncos in the fourth round of the2001 NFL draft.[2] After playing his entire career with the Broncos, Hamilton signed with theSeattle Seahawks on April 20, 2010.[3]
On November 2, 2010, Hamilton was placed on injured reserve.[4] On December 22, Hamilton was waived from the injury list.[5]
Hamilton is currently a full-time mathematics teacher atValor Christian High School inHighlands Ranch, CO.[6]
