Bellwether Pictures is an American film production studio based inLos Angeles,United States. The company was founded byscreenwriter,film director andproducerJoss Whedon and his then-wife Kai Cole as co-founder/producer.[1] Their purpose is to bring micro-budget films directly to an audience, bypassing "the classic studio structure".[2]
In 2012, Bellwether releasedMuch Ado About Nothing,[3] for whichLionsgate andRoadside Attractions handled US theatrical distribution.[4] The next production was Brin Hill'sIn Your Eyes.[5] Written by Whedon, it became the studio's first endeavor in using a method of distribution forsimultaneous release.[6]
