Bell Creek (also known asEscorpión Creek) is a 10-mile-long (16 km)[2]tributary of theLos Angeles River, in theSimi Hills ofVentura County and theSan Fernando Valley ofLos Angeles County andCity, inSouthern California.

Theconfluence34°11′43″N118°36′07″W / 34.1952°N 118.601838°W /34.1952; -118.601838 withArroyo Calabasas marks the"headwaters" of theLos Angeles River. The initialheadwater feeder-streams begin in theSimi Hills inVentura County from 90% of theRocketdyneSanta Susana Field Laboratory (SSFL) property as itswatershed, leaving the site withtoxic substances andradionuclide contamination via culvert outfalls, aquiferseeps andsprings, andsurface runoff.[3][4] It then flows as acreek southeast throughBell Canyon (the community and geographic feature),Bell Canyon Park, andEl Escorpión Park in a naturalstream bed. It then is altered to flow in aconcrete channel. Moore Creek joins in from the west, and then it flows east, channelized throughWest Hills, where it is joined by the South Fork and South Branches of the same name and by Dayton Creek. Then on throughCanoga Park to joinArroyo Calabasas (Calabasas Creek) and becoming theLos Angeles River.

Bell Creek begins as a free-flowing stream until passingEscorpión Peak (Castle Peak) in Bell Canyon Park. At Bell Canyon Road and Elmsbury Lane it becomes encased in aconcreteflood control channel. It then passes under Valley Circle Boulevard, flowing just south of Highlander Road through formerRancho El Escorpión-current West Hills, and further eastward parallel to (and south of) Sherman Way in Canoga Park. There, it joins Arroyo Calabasas, directly east ofCanoga Park High School beside Vanowen Street.
