Becampanel (INN; development codeAMP397) is aquinoxalinedionederivativedrug which acts as acompetitive antagonist of theAMPA receptor (IC50 = 11 nM).[1][2][3][4] It was investigated as ananticonvulsant for the treatment ofepilepsy byNovartis, and was also looked at as a potential treatment forneuropathic pain andcerebral ischemia, but never completedclinical trials.[1][2][3][5]
