Bebnine (Arabic:ببنين) is a town located in theAkkar District of theAkkar Governorate inLebanon.[1] Its inhabitants are primarilySunni Muslims.[2]
In 1838,Eli Smith noted the village, whose inhabitants wereSunni Muslims andGreek Orthodox, located west ofesh-Sheikh Mohammed.[3]
In 1856 it was namedBibnin onKiepert's map of Palestine/Lebanon published that year.[4]
In 2014,Muslims made up 99.79% of registered voters in Bebnine. 99.50% of the voters wereSunni Muslims.[5]
