TheBeatrice M. Tinsley Prize is awarded every other year by theAmerican Astronomical Society in recognition of an outstanding research contribution toastronomy orastrophysics of an exceptionally creative or innovative character.[1] The prize is named in honor of thecosmologist andastronomerBeatrice Tinsley.

The prize is normally awarded every second year, but was awarded in 2021 out of the established sequence.
