Settlements which are part of Batu constituency include Sentul. The constituency has the most Projek Perumahan Rakyat (PPR) public housing apartments and one of the highest rates of petty crime in the city.[2]

The Batu suburb is served by theTaman Wahyu,Kampung Batu andBatu Kentonmen Komuter stations on theKTM KomuterSeremban Line.
It is also served by theKampung Batu,Kentonmen, as well as theJalan Ipoh MRT stations on theMRT Putrajaya Line.
The currentMember of Parliament (MP) for the Batu parliamentary constituency is PrabakaranParameswaran fromPakatan Harapan ofPKR, who won the seat in the2018 Malaysian general election. He is the youngest serving MP in Malaysia.
