TheBattle of Bucov orTeleajen River (called battle of Bukowo in Polish historiography) was fought during theMoldavian Magnate Wars between thePolish–Lithuanian Commonwealth and thePrincipality of Wallachia, on October 20, 1600. Polish-Lithuanian forces under the command ofJan Zamoyski defeated the Wallachian forces commanded byMichael the Brave.
The battle, which took place inBucov (in modern-dayPrahova County) was fierce, and lasted several hours. After having sustained heavy losses, Michael the Brave retreated towardsCraiova, with the hope of organizing a more efficient resistance.[1]
