TheBathurst 24 Hour was an endurance race forGT and production cars held at theMount Panorama Circuit inBathurst,New South Wales in 2002 and 2003. Only two races were held before the collapse of the management organisationPROCAR. Both races were won byV8 Supercar teamGarry Rogers Motorsport withHolden Monaros.
The Bathurst 24 Hour featured various classes. The entrants were mainly drivers from local racing competitions including theNations Cup,Super Touring andCarrera Cup competitions. Both races also saw international teams enter cars.
Group 1 was for cars complying withFIA N-GT,Nations Cup Group 1 andBritish GT GTO regulations, with engine capacity over 3.5 litres.[1] Models represented were theFerrari 360 N-GT,Holden Monaro427C,Mosler MT900R,Porsche 996 GT3-RS,Porsche 996 GT3-R and thePorsche 996 GT3 Cup.[2]
Group 3 was for cars complying withFIA Group N andNations Cup Group 2 regulations, with engine capacity between 2.0 and 3.2 litres.[1] Models represented were theBMW 318i,BMW 320i and theBMW M Coupe.[2]
Group 5 was forGT Performance road cars under $150,000.[1] Models represented were theBMW M3,Ford Tickford TE50,HSV GTS,Mazda RX-7,Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution,Nissan 200SX,Nissan 350Z and theSubaru Impreza WRX STi.[2]
Group 9 was forGT Performance road cars under $80,000.[1] Models represented were theBMW 323i,Holden Commodore,Honda S2000 and theToyota MR2.[2]
Group 10 was an invitational class for Future Touring,Mitsubishi Mirage Cup andSuper Production cars.[1] Models represented were theBMW M3,Holden Commodore,Mitsubishi Magna and theMitsubishi Mirage.[2]
Class A was for cars complying withFIA N-GT,Nations Cup Group 1 andBritish GT GTO regulations.[3] Models represented were theBMW M3 GTR,Ferrari 360 N-GT,Holden Monaro427C,Lamborghini Diablo GTR,Mosler MT900R,Porsche 996 GT3-RS and thePorsche 996 GT3-RC.[4]
Class B was for cars complying withNations Cup Group 2,Carrera Cup andBritish GT GT Cup regulations.[3] Models represented were theBMW M Coupe,Ferrari 360 Modena,Morgan Aero 8 and thePorsche 996 GT3 Cup.[4]
Class D was forGT Performance road cars under $160,000.[3] Models represented were theBMW M3,BMW M Coupe,FPV GT,HSV GTS,Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution,Nissan 200SX,Nissan 350Z and theSubaru Impreza WRX STi.[4]
Class E was forGT Performance road cars under $90,000.[3] Models represented were theAlfa Romeo 156,Ford Falcon,Holden Commodore,Honda Integra,Honda S2000 and theToyota Celica.[4]
Class F was an invitational class forFIA Group N, Future Touring,Mitsubishi Mirage Cup andSuper Production cars.[3] Models represented were theBMW 320i,BMW M3,BMW M3-R,Ford Falcon,Holden Commodore,Mitsubishi Mirage and theToyota Altezza.[4]
