Batad, officially theMunicipality of Batad (Hiligaynon:Banwa sang Batad,Tagalog:Bayan ng Batad), is amunicipality in theprovince ofIloilo,Philippines. According to the 2024 census, it has a population of 22,174 people.[5]
In 1950, the barrio of Zarragoza was transferred to the town ofBalasan.[6]
Batad is 122 kilometres (76 mi) north from the provincial capital,Iloilo City, and 65 kilometres (40 mi) fromRoxas City.
Batad is politically subdivided into 24barangays. [7] Each barangay consists ofpuroks and some havesitios.
