Basiluzzo (Italian pronunciation:[baziˈluttso]) is anislet (1 km2 (0.39 sq mi)), and the smallest of eight islands in theAeolian Islands, avolcanic island chain north ofSicily. In antiquity, the island was named "Hicesia".[1]
It is featured in the Italian filmL'avventura, where the characters are on a motor boat looking for somewhere to swim.[2] They sail up to Basiluzzo but decide to travel toLisca Bianca, another of theAeolian Islands nearest to Basiluzzo.
