Barry Peterson is aCanadian-American cinematographer.
Born inAlberta, Canada, Peterson initially worked inspecial visual effects on various productions before moving into live actioncinematography, where he began shootingcommercials for companies such asApple,Pepsi, andNike.[1] Peterson is father to two sons.
As a cinematographer, Peterson's first credited film was 1993'sMustard Bath.[2] When he moved toLos Angeles, Peterson was hired as the director of photography forBen Stiller'sZoolander, which would quickly lead to work on numerous studio films. Barry has worked frequently with directorsRawson Marshall Thurber,Phil Lord and Christopher Miller,John Francis Daley, andJonathan Goldstein.[3][4]
In television, Peterson worked on thepilot episodes of the seriesThe Cape,Brooklyn Nine-Nine, andThe Good Place.[4]
