Baron Amwell, of Islington in the County of London, is a title in thePeerage of the United Kingdom. It was created on 16 July 1947 for theLabour politicianFrederick Montague. He had previously representedIslington West in theHouse of Commons and served asUnder-Secretary of State for Air from 1929 to 1931. As of 2010^[update] the title is held by his grandson, the third Baron, who succeeded his father in 1990.
