Barb Yarusso (born 1956) is aMinnesota politician and former member of theMinnesota House of Representatives. A member of theMinnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party, she represented District 42A, which included portions ofRamsey County, Minnesota in the north-centralTwin Cities metropolitan area.
Yarusso grew up primarily inColumbia Heights, Minnesota, and graduated from Columbia Heights High School. She earned a Bachelor ofChemical Engineering from theUniversity of Minnesota andPh.D. in the same field fromUniversity of Wisconsin–Madison.[1] After college, she worked in the lab as an engineer forGeneral Mills and as an industrial trainer and self-employed engineering consultant for HB Fuller,3M, andEcolab, as well as teaching at theUniversity of St. Thomas inSaint Paul,Hill-Murray School, theUniversity of Minnesota, and as a freelance tutor.[2]
Yarusso was first elected to theMinnesota House of Representatives in 2012 to an open seat created by post-censusredistricting. She lostre-election toRepublicanRandy Jessup in 2016.
