Banpur railway station is a railway station on theRanaghat–Gede line of theKolkata Suburban Railway system and operated byEastern Railway. It is situated beside Banpur–Majhdia Road at Banpur village ofNadia district in the Indian state ofWest Bengal.^[1] Number ofEMUs stop at Banpur railway station.^[2] The distance between Sealdah to this station is approximately 111 km.^[3]

TheRanaghat–Gede section was the part of theEastern Bengal Railway which was opened in 1862 and extended to Kushtia, now inBangladesh. This was theCalcutta–Siliguri main line but afterPartition of India in 1947, this got truncated and what remained India named the Gede Branch Line.^[4] The line including Banpur railway station was electrified in 1997–98.^[5]
