Banmauk orBamauk(Shan:မၢၼ်ႈမွၵ်ႇ,Manmawk) is a town inKatha District,Sagaing Region inMyanmar. It is connected by road toPinlebu which links withPhaungbyin andKawlin.[1] The township is home to the Shan, Kadu and Kananethnic minorities. The area has witnessed fighting betweencommunists and thegovernment troops. The town was captured by thePeople's Defence Force from theShanni Nationalities Army and the Tatmadaw on 20 September 2025.[2][3]
