Band (Persian:بند)[a] is a village inBaranduz Rural District[5] of theCentral District inUrmia County,West Azerbaijan province,Iran. It is located 3 kilometers southwest of Urmia. The village has been inhabited for over 3,000 years.[6]

Band is known for its traditional mountain architecture, as well as the change from an agricultural community focused on orchards to the primary tourism hub. According to the 2016 census, its population was 4,769. The Shahrchayi dam is located upstream from the village, and regulates water management for villagers.[7]

At the time of the 2006 National Census, the village's population was 3,888 in 872 households.[8] The following census in 2011 counted 4,092 people across1,081 households.[9] The 2016 census measured the population of the village as 4,769 people residing in 1,281 households. It was the most populous village in its rural district.[3]
