Bakdash (Arabic:بَكْدَاش,romanizedBakdāš), alternatively romanised asBakdach, is a landmarkice cream parlor in theAl-Hamidiyah Souq in theancient city ofDamascus.[3][2] Established in 1895, it is famous for its traditional Middle Easternbooza—a mastic frozen dairy dessert.[2][1] It is noted around theArab world and has become a popular tourist attraction.[1]

A second branch opened inAmman,Jordan in 2013.[2] Branches unaffiliated with the original founders also opened neighboring countries, sometimes with their permission.[4]
