Bailey Olter (27 March 1932 – 16 February 1999) was aMicronesianpolitical figure. He was elected to theSenate of Micronesian Congress from Ponape district.[1] He served asVice President of the Federated States of Micronesia from 1983 to 1987,[2] and as the thirdpresident of the Federated States of Micronesia from 1991 to 1996.
He was re-elected president in the March 1995 presidential election.[3] He suffered a stroke in July 1996 ending his capacity to carry out his office; his Vice PresidentJacob Nena served the last year of his term.
